Let me start by giving a bit of background information about myself.  I grew up in Valdosta GA; having enlisted in the Air Force in 2001, I’ve been all around the world over the last 21 years.  I am a wife, a mother of 1, an aunt to many, a Cyber Security professional, and a Chandler!  

 

Music is everything for me, I grew up in an environment where music wasn’t limited to one genre.  For instance, my mother loves Johnny Cash and gospel but my daddy listens to a lot of Parliament-Funkadelic and R&B.  Music transcends all, I truly believe this.  I also enjoy reading, although I mostly listen to audio books these days. 

 

One of my favorite quotes is from Albert Einstein, “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough”.  If you have ever worked in IT or Cyber…you know!   

 

Now on to how my shop came about!  Last year, the pandemic forced me to look into making my own soaps, candles, and moisturizers as stores were closed and all the products that I normally used were sold out online.  I have sensitive skin so when I find a product that I don’t have an allergic reaction to…I tend to stick with it.  After several months of testing products, (oils, fragrances, butters, molds, extracts, jars, curing times) I decided to launch Gordon Street Magnolia.  This has been one of the most gratifying things that I have accomplished to date.  

 

The products that I first created are to pay homage to my lineage.  All products in my legacy line are named after some of those in my family who paved the way for me to become who I am today; a dynamic renaissance woman!  I am truly grateful for all that they sacrificed so that I can exist in this world.
